This is a portrait commission that I had been working on recently. This is a bit different from my usual paintings. I always use a lot of bright colors, I wanted to keep this simple. Made this with a slightly injured hand so it did not come out as well as I wanted it to.
I had been experiencing a small pain from my elbow to my wrist for weeks but I kept ignoring it. Now the pain has increased tremendously and I've been asked not to use my drawing arm at all for days or maybe even weeks. I've heard about hand injury in artists before but never really took any precautions in avoiding it. That's the way it always is, isn't it? We tend to take things very lightly until it happens to us. So I kept drawing and straining my hands until it gave out. Apparently, my hand will heal once i give it enough rest. I just wanted to tell all of you, who never had to deal with such injuries to be very careful with overusing your hands while drawing. Make sure you take a break every now and then, stretch your arms, etc.
